Our Story

Sharon

I spent 30 years collecting things. Moving to India taught me what to keep.

I come from IT. Two decades across Canada and the US, optimizing workflows, always moving fast. And like anyone who lives that life, I accumulated a lot.

Then I had a daughter. And when she turned one, I made the decision that surprised everyone including me: I packed up our lives and moved to India.

I shipped containers with boxes of things that I thought I needed. And what I found on the other side wasn't the chaos I expected, it was slowness. A pace of life that forced me to notice what actually mattered. A place where nothing was disposable and a culture that still remembers how to be intentional.

I started looking at my “possessions" differently. What I wanted for myself now were quality pieces that represented my current self and to stop clinging on to pieces that didn’t reflect that.

I didn't want to just sell them, I wanted to pass them on. To someone who would actually wear them, love them and, get years out of them.

I grew up in Abu Dhabi, where access came easily. I was surrounded by a culture of abundance and grew accustomed to the idea that style meant acquiring more — more labels, more choice, more of what felt aspirational. Later, after moving to India, every trip abroad became an opportunity to bring back what wasn’t easily available here. Fashion became part expression and  part accumulation.

Over the years, I built a wardrobe filled with pieces I had once deeply desired. But when I turned 40, something changed. My style evolved. So did my sense of self. Much of what I owned no longer reflected the person I wanted to represent.

What became clear was this: letting go wasn’t the hard part. Letting go meaningfully was.

I didn’t want these pieces to be discarded or reduced to clutter. They deserved to be passed on with intention, to find their way to someone who would wear and love them in a new chapter.

Why we built Vintage Collective

When our paths crossed, we recognised something we had both lived, fashion shifts with you, and the pieces you move on from deserve to go somewhere that honours that.

Vintage Collective is for women who value style but value intention more. Where what you let go of matters as much as what you choose to keep.

Vintage Collective is a space where great fashion gets the second life it deserves. We believe style should evolve with you, and that parting with what no longer serves you can be just as powerful as acquiring something new. Our goal is to make resale feel curated, credible, and deeply personal.

At its heart, Vintage Collective is about more than fashion. It is about recognising that the pieces we collect carry stories, and that passing them on can be an act of both sustainability and self-awareness.
